Questions
Asked, answered quietly.
What is FIRE?
FIRE stands for financial independence, retire early. In Cashmere it simply means the year work becomes optional, when your savings can carry your spending. You don't have to retire; you just stop needing the paycheck.
Is Cashmere free?
Cashmere is free while in early access. If that changes, existing users will hear about it long before anything is charged, and your data will never be held behind a paywall.
Do I need to connect my bank?
No. Cashmere is a planning workspace: you enter the numbers you choose, or import your own statements. There is no account linking and no bank credentials to hand over.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your inputs live in your workspace and are readable only by you. We do not sell or trade your data, and you can remove it whenever you decide to.
How is this different from a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet holds numbers; Cashmere holds the relationships between them. Change one assumption and your whole picture (savings rate, runway, your date) updates together. No formulas to maintain, no tabs drifting out of sync.
Do you give financial advice?
No. Cashmere shows projections based on the numbers you provide. It is a planning tool, not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Verify important decisions with a qualified professional.
